A-England She Walks In Beauty

Nothing To Disclose Affiliate Link
Happy afternoon, ladies!  (And gents, as always)  First off, sorry about the dry skin.  I really didn't realize my hands were this gross until I was just now editing pictures.  Oh, the woes of living in a cold climate!  ;)

So, I'm going to try to do swatching of newer polishes or ones I haven't used yet before I start doing others you've probably seen a million times.  I have probably hundreds (sick, isn't it??) of untrieds I need to go through!  Today I picked A-England, She Walks in Beauty.

I got this polish probably six months ago in a swap.  I LOVED it, but for some reason I've never worn it.  I think maybe I thought I had to layer it?  I'm really not sure, but that was a mistake either way!  This polish is gorgeous.  It's probably the most beautiful gold I've ever seen!

As you can see, She Walks In Beauty turns your nails into a highly reflective, gold foil bed of awesome.  The pink glitter that it contains sometimes isn't even visible because it's so shiny! I used three coats for the pictures, but I'm not sure if I had to.  This instantly became a favorite and you'll probably see art with it soon!  It would make an amazing base for black or darker pink stamping, don't you think?

Hope you all had an awesome day!  Thanks for stopping in!

Pink Mani Week! "Nautical" Nonsense

*Some Products in this post were provided for review.  No other compensation was received for giving my opinion of the product.*

How was everyone's weekend?  I hope better than mine.  I really did have that bronchial crap that's going around.  I had it in September too, but worse.  MUCH worse.  Yay me :)

I'm back, however!  No sickness can keep me down for long!  This week is going to be "pink week."  I needed a theme so that I'd get things done.  I just couldn't decide on anything else!  My BFF suggested a Valentine week... but I'm not ready for that yet, so I went with pink.  My first mani is my favorite, and uses the least amount of the color I'm supposed to be using.  Oops.  lol

I used Zoya Ziv for the gold, Zoya GeiGei for the pink, and Rainbow Honey Mint Flavor for the green.

I used nautical stripes as inspiration, but other than that, I can't call it nautical.  It's really just a pretty mani!  I really didn't want to take it off, so I'm sure I'll be using this color combo again!

What do you think of these colors and this style?  Thanks for looking!

Mixed Metals Bling Holiday Nails

Hi everyone!  Another inspiration post here.  Again, no credit was found on it.  Stupid pinterest.  GRRR.  HAHA  This is some super easy nail art here.  I just used a gold base, topped the accent nail with some glitter, and did a diagonal bisect of the other nails with silver.  I didn't even tape these!
I think the final look is very sleek and elegant.  What do you think?  Hit or miss?  Thanks for looking!

Holiday Nail Art FAIL

Hi everyone!  Today was a total fail.  It was supposed to look *something* like this:
(by the way, I found this on pinterest with no credit.. so if you know who's nails these are, let me know!)

But what really happened is this:

Horrible!  Dreadful!  I'm not sure how I could ever fix it, but I plan on trying again when Hunger Games comes out.  Anyone have any ideas??  Thanks for looking!

Red/gold holiday nails

Hi everyone!  Today is "Thanksgiving weekend nails part 2."  I wore Dr's Remedy REVIVE as a base, then stamped the necklace/jewels/chains design on my nails using China Glaze Midnight Kiss from last year's holiday collection.  I then tipped my nails with some gold glitter.  I think I went a little too far with it, and I'm not really satisfied with the final look.  No one else has seemed to have a problem, but I wasn't satisfied.
I also couldn't get decent pictures to save my life, so I'm sorry about the quality of these!  I'll make it up to you soon.  :)

Well, we got our tree up today and a couple other things done, and I'm cleaning my room tomorrow (pray for me!), so hopefully I'll have time to do the nails I've been craving for the past week or so!  Hopefully I can show you tomorrow.  Until then though, thanks for looking!

FOTM: China Glaze Trendsetter

Hi everyone!  I know you are all excited to see swatches of my last haul. I have good news, and bad.  Good news, I swatched some of them for my FOTM posts, and will be showing you those first.  Bad news, I am ULTRA busy this week, so that's all I'll be able to do.   Hopefully I can swatch them sometime next week to get up here.  :(

Today, I am showing you the new ChG Trendsetter.  It's gross.  Seriously.  lol  Gross in a good way.  Sound weird?  Look and see if you can tell what I mean:
Outside, no flash

I don't think you can see it.  You may just have to try this polish yourself.  What it is, is a gross, nasty green.  Really.  Then, you get it in light and BAM you have gorgeousness.  There is this insane gold/yellow shimmer in it that totally changes the color.

Inside, flash
I'm really disappointed that you can't see it in these pictures.  In the next maybe?

Kinda.  Anyway.  I, surprisingly, hater of all greens, am really liking this polish.  The shimmer factor just wows me.  It really is very pretty when you have the right light on it.  And yes, I really am wearing it to work today.  I want to stare at it some more :)
Application wise?  WOW.  I had read somewhere that it was streaky on first coat.  Um.  No.  It was perfect.  It was almost a one-coater in fact.  A girl with shorter nails could probably get away with one since there wouldn't be any VNL.  It's amazing.  It's easy to control, pigmented, and delicious.  I recommend you pick it up.  Or at least borrow it to try once :)

Before I go, I was wondering if there were a way you guys would want me to change anything. Less features?  More about me?  LESS about me?  Give me some feedback!  I want to make this the best blog it can be! Thanks for looking!

NOTD: Zoya Crystal!

Hey everyone!  I have today the shade I have been lemming for since it came out.  Crystal!  As much as I love this color, I had major problems with it.  I'll go ahead and show you the pictures, and maybe you can see what I mean.

Do you see what I'm talking about?  What's with that shrinkage?  It isn't even dry yet!  It isn't SV, and I know that quick dry top coats aren't supposed to work well with Zoya, but that's all I have right now.  What top coats do you use with them?  Besides color lock... :)

Second, MAJOR bubbles.  More than likely my fault, but still so annoying.  I just got this in the mail and I HAD to try it... and freaking bubbles.  WTH?!?  Grr.  lol  I'm not going to give up on Crystal, or Zoya.  I just need some help!   Please give me some suggestions, I would hate to not be able to wear this!

Thanks for reading guys!

UPDATE:  I bought a new top coat that I will be trying with these sometime soon.  I hope it works! PS Vote for next months FOTM! Thanks everyone :)
