Zoya Bubbly for Summer 2014- Swatches and Review

Good morning!  Today's post is going to be short on words, with lots of pretty pictures!  I got behind on my Zoya reviews due to nail breaks and whatnot, so the rest of the week I'll be getting caught up on those so I can start showing you other things!  Today is Bubbly for Summer 2014.

These polishes all have the same application and formula.  They are jelly polishes with the same type of "holographic" (i.e. iridescent) glitters that you find in Monet.  All pictures show three easy coats and top coat, but they can also be layered.

 Staasi is a grass green base with a gold shimmer in addition to the glitter.

 Alma is a yellow-orange polish with golden shimmer.   This is not my favorite.  I wouldn't wear it on it's own, but it is very pretty layered on top of other colors.  It makes hot pink into a gorgeous coral!

 Jesy is described as coral by Zoya, but on me it is an orange with that same gold shimmer.  This might look good on other people, but as you know, I'm not a fan of oranges, and this one just doesn't look great on me.

 Muse is an absolutely stunning blue.  It has a darker true-blue base and the glitter makes it really unique.  Almost like mermaid scales.  I think of this as Charla's sister.

 Binx is a raspberry shade with gold shimmer.  I like this one, but it isn't my favorite.  I wish it had been purple instead!  Just a little darker and this would have been absolutely stunning.

 Finally, Harper.  I love Harper!  It isn't truly unique in it's color, but bubblegum pinks happen to be my favorite.  It makes a great base for art!

Like I said, application on all of these was great.  If you don't want to build to three coats, these look very nice over the Tickled collection.  I prefer mine on their own, though.  My favorites are Harper and Muse.  I could definitely do without Staasi, Alma and Jesi.  The glitter mix is unique, and makes each polish take on an unexpected hue when viewed at different angles/lights.  Overall, nice collection, but could have been improved with a purple or maybe a true coral.

Zoya Gloss: Fall 2012

Hi everyone! Today I have a part of what you've all been waiting for for me, the Zoya Gloss collection for fall 2012!  It's been awhile!  I still am not feeling like taking swatches or anything of that sort... but I might as well post already edited pics, right?  :)  

First up today is Paloma.  This is my favorite of the three!  The second bottle picture is the most accurate of the bunch, but you can see that on the nail it is more pink than it is in the bottle.   Described by Zoya as A sheer deep fuchsia-berry with a buildable jelly gloss finish, this one went on very even and it is gorgeous!  Shown below are 1, 2 and 3 coats and a jelly sandwich made with a pink hex glitter.  

Second, we have Frida.  Zoya describes this shade as A sheer, dark, warm-toned teal blue with a buildable jelly gloss finish.  Coverage on this one isn't quite as good as Paloma and took 4 coats to get bottle color, with vnl still present.  It is very pretty, though!  Shown below is 1,2,3, and 4 coats and a jelly sandwich made with the same pink hex glitter as above.  

Last is Katherine.  Zoya describes this shade as a sheer, dark, red-toned aubergine with a buildable jelly gloss finish.  I call this a dark berry red jelly.  Pretty close either way.  :)   This shade had the "worst" formula.  It was harder to apply evenly than the others, but by three coats it looks nice.  Four coats would provide a closer-to-full coverage effect.  Shown below are 1,2,3 coats and a jelly sandwich with the pink hex glitter.  

Overall, I really like these for what they are.  I'm not sure I will use them much since I don't like sheer polishes, but they are amazing for sandwiches (which we have all been really into lately!)!  I also really like Paloma alone, so I'm sure I'll figure out some use for it teehee. If you like sheer, or sammiches (don't we all), then I would pick these up for sure!

BB Couture Girls on Tape

Hi everyone!  Today I'm starting work, so I don't plan on saying much.  I leave super early, and I hate mornings! HA!  So, I'm going to show you the other half of the new BB Couture collection.  

The "Girls" half of the collection is called Girls on Tape.  Again, these are all named after movies.  Again, I'm not really familiar with the movies.  Again, I will be worthless with comparisons of the names/movie titles.  So don't ask.  lol

Black Widow

Black Widow is what I would like to call The Black Knight's prettier little sister.  That's right.  I said prettier.  You can see in the bottle that it's a dark plum jelly with multicolored glitter in it.  The main colors that stand out, though, are red and gold.  It is super squishy! 

African Queen

African Queen is a very pretty sea foam green.  I have seen shades like this before, but I don't have any.  It has a mint green/silver shimmer running through it that just makes it shine!  

Carrie

Carrie is a dark blue metallic with purple, pink and blue shimmer.  I am really liking this one!  The micro glitter colors make it a little more unique than just a regular navy metal.  

 I must warn you.  The next three shades are NOT color accurate.  I tried everything!  I did two separate photo shoots in at least 5 separate lighting situations and they all turned out exactly the same.  I've picked the best of the worst, but they are not as pictured.  I'm actually really saddened by this, but I'm hoping I can find accurate swatches to link you to!  I have GOT to figure out what is going on with my camera!

Happy Hooker

Happy Hooker is my favorite!  (this is actually pretty close, but still a little off... bottle color is the accurate color, not nail) It is a happy lilac based pink with multicolor micro glitter.  The dominant colors that stand out to me are gold and light green.  I'm in love! 

Pretty Woman

Pretty Woman is actually a medium berry colored jelly.  As in, more blue than this.  Also, a tad darker.  These are horrible pictures.  Not even close!  I'm not even sure how to describe it, which is horrible.  Maybe a dark magenta?  The glitter color in this doesn't really matter since it gets lost in the polish.  The good part about that, though, is that it looks like a jelly sandwich without all the layering!  (Seriously, click the above pics).

Gidget

Finally we have Gidget.  This is a "dusty" rose type of color.  I might call it a pink taupe, if that makes sense?  I have a link below that shows it closer to accurate.  The glitter sinks in this polish as well, though not as bad as in Pretty Woman.  It still looks glittery.  :)  This is the only one I'm not really liking and it may go in my swaps! 

*Overall beauty has swatches and bottle shots of the collection on their Facebook that you can go check out.  In the bottle shot linked above, Gidget is very accurate, but maybe still a tad lighter.  Pretty Woman is still off, but it's nice to compare.*

The application on these polishes was very nice.  They all went on very smoothly and evenly.  For pictures, I used 4 coats of each (ouch!), but I probably could use three for everyday wear.  I'm also very happy with the colors.  They may not be terribly unique, but they all stand out in some way or another from others like them.  I have no dupes in my collection!  

I would recommend you grab Happy Hooker and Carrie.  They are truly the most unique.  Although, I would probably buy 5 of the 6 again!
