Hi everyone! I'm actually back this time :) I have tons of photos to edit and post! Some reviews, some swatches... ya know the drill. I've finally gotten to where I feel better from getting my wisdom teeth cut out, so I'm gonna get the ball rolling! Woot!!
Today I have a review of some product I was super excited about trying. Cherimoya has their own magnetic line! As you all know, Cherimoya was one of the first brands I ever reviewed and I LOVE them, so I was super stoked. What makes this line even better? They make just about every color and magnet you could think of! The line consists of 24 shades with 12, yes TWELVE, magnet shapes! I was sent four to try out for you!
Cherimoya is a brand that likes to make collections with themes. Which is super fun! This collection is "Out of This World" and all have galactic names. So, I'm going to jump into to the descriptions and pictures! (*sorry these are messy. The messy nails were the best pictures!!! Isn't that how it always happens??)
Earth
Earth is a gorgeous bright blue that makes a dark/bright design. The magnet that came with this one is the bullseye. This one is my favorite!
Uranus
Uranus is a medium toned olive with gold glitter. The resulting designs are light green. This was the problem child, probably due to the glitter. The formula is a little thicker and, I don't think, the designs aren't as pronounced. Again, probably due to the thickness. Thinner should solve those problems. The magnet on this is the chevron.
Neptune
Neptune is the not so unique shade in the bunch. It is very similar to other magnetics I have in my collection. The designs are bottle color, while the predominant color is almost black. This magnet is the straight lines.
Milky Way
Milky Way was the surprise! It looks like it would be another very similar shade, but when you put it on you can tell it is different! Part of it comes from a milky formula that allows color underneath to show once the magnet is applied. On just the nail, the design comes out sort of brown. You can also add a different base color, or an extra coat, if you didn't want that flesh color there. I personally love it, though! The magnet on this one (my favorite) is the wavy lined one.
My first impression of these is awesome. I think they work VERY well. In some cases (as with most magnetics) they will pool at the tips and cause you to bump the polish with the magnet. That is remedied with application practice. I really have no complaints about the polish itself either.
I have heard rumors, though..
Quite a long time ago, I was disappointed to read this post by Scrangie. In summary, she bought the metallic purple polish and the bleeding was horrible. Even after drying it bled into the topcoat and anything layered over it. When she took it off, it bled incredibly badly onto her finger and stained them. I was sad that she had such a bad experience, since mine was so positive! Since then, I've acquired plenty more Cherimoya polishes and have never had the problem with color bleeding that she did. In fact, I didn't think anyone else had, either. Until last night. My friend, Mary, had spotted these at her Walgreens and she picked up several. The purple shade that she got did the same thing! The purple I got, however, did not. So, I'm not sure which pigment it is that causes that, but when picking up purple shades, be careful with your topcoats! I am also going to pass the word along to the company so they can investigate.
That being said, since I have never personally had these problems, and they seem to be few and far between, I still 100% recommend these! In fact, I am buying more so I can show you all the magnet shapes!
These will be available soon on porkdaisy.com, and are available now at select Walgreens, CVS and Duane Reade stores. Depending on location, they retail for $4.99-$5.99.
So, what do you guys think? Totally over it, or will you be picking some up? Let me know! Thanks for reading :)

Un-original or not I love the purple one! I may need to add it to my collection.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably worth mentioning that my Wags (and hopefully everyone else's) has these on sale this week 2 for $10. Saves a few bucks at least!
holy crap - i love these magnet designs!! I know where I'm going on my lunch break.
