Does Anyone Do Pink Wednesday Anymore?

Nothing To Disclose Affiliate Link

Hey y'all!  So, I don't know if you know this about me, but besides nails, I'm kind of a make-up hoarder.  Specifically Urban Decay palettes and OCC lip tars.  Oh my how I love lip tars!  Although, I haven't perfected them yet.  I can't get them to last on me!  I've tried just about every primer there is... Anyway, I digress.  Awhile back Sephora started carrying OCC products, and that's when I fell in love.  I was so excited to buy a whole bunch of colors and play with them!  I got a few, then the prices got jacked, and I had to stop buying them.  Around Christmas time, though, these sets with lip tar and corresponding nail polish popped up and I HAD to have Anime!  I would have bought others, but I already had all the tars that went with them.  Oops.  lol
Anime is just about the perfect neon pink.  The polish itself is a little thick and goopy, and doesn't self level.  Of course, this could be because I got it in the winter and I've never really used it.  I used three coats, and a thick layer of Poshe topcoat.  The finished look was actually kind of squishy and delicious looking!  That being, I'll still add thinner before I use it next time.  :)

As of now, Sephora doesn't have the Anime lip tar available.  I'm not sure if it's sold out, or what the deal is.  However, you can buy the polish/tar set for $22.50, or the polish alone for $10.

So what do you think of Anime?  Are there any other colors of polish/tar I should try?  Thanks for stopping in!

Another Pink Wednesday Water Marble

Hey everyone!  Ms. Bad Blogger is back.  This time with excuses!  My SD card isn't mounting now.  WTH?  I really should show you a picture of my room to help explain why I can't find a new one.... but someone might send the National Guard.  Or the Animal Rescue League for my dog :/ Of course I kid.... kinda.  So here I am looking for pictures I haven't used yet so I can post something.  What I really want to be doing is showing you the China Glaze neons and how awesome they are (in just about every way), the new Cherimoya magnetics, Soulstice Cape Cod.... so many things depended on that card.  *sigh*

Anyway, I found a Pink Wednesday post that I meant to put up ages ago!  Unfortunately, that means I can't remember exactly what I used.  I know that China Glaze Pool Party and Color Club Yum Gum are in it... but don't ask me the rest of the colors.  Without saying any more... Here's my neon pink water marble!

I kept all the pictures because I think it's neat that the color came out differently in all of them.  I also wanted to share a little technique.  In the first several pictures you can see how the pinks kind of blended into different shades, and how the purple washed out to a pink color (btw, I would like to recreate the three pink look).  In the last three, the colors are accurate.  I couldn't do anything to get the colors accurate!  I used flash, light tent, natural light, fluorescent light... everything.  So I scoured the internet and found this tip: Photograph neons under water!  I must say, it worked perfectly for this mani!  I had to play around with my camera settings still, but it worked SO much better than when my hands were dry.  Next time you have to photograph neons, you might want to try it out!

In conclusion (haha), I'm sorry and I suck but I still love you!  So tell me, what are some of your photography tips?  Anything you found by accident?  Thanks for reading!

Another Pink Wednesday!

Hi everyone!  How goes it this Wednesday?  It's cold here!  I hate it.  BUT I've been in the mood for bright polish, so that's a plus!

I've been wanting to wear pink a lot lately, so having manis ready for today wasn't hard.  I had plenty to choose from!  Sorry about that, the color will be seen a lot in the follow weeks.  I can't help it!  It's so bright, and makes me feel tons better!  Helps my mood, helps me not feel sick, and tricks me into thinking it's warm! lol

So today I have a sort of Valentine's skittles mani.  Not necessarily a whole mani, rather ideas of pairings or whatnot.  I actually really like the look of it all together though, and I'm thinking of putting it back on!

What I used:
Thumb: White with Zoya Izzy, Sally Hansen Fuchsia Flare, OPI Too Hot Pink to Hold Em
Index: Zoya Izzy, OPI I Lily Love You, (heart) Sally Hansen Fuchsia Flare
Middle: Zoya Izzy, OPI Spark De Triomphe, OPI I Lily Love You
Ring: White, Kleancolor Twinkly Love (hearts), OPI Too Hot Pink to Hold Em
Pinkie: Zoya Izzy, OPI Red Shatter

What do you think?  Tell me what your favorite nail is!  I need help deciding what to recreate :)  Thanks for looking!

Pink Wednesday Water Marble!

Hello, hello everyone!  Today I am bringing back Pink Wednesday with a Valentine water marble!  This is my first EVER attempt, and I'm very pleased!

Here's my set up:
I used white, Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Fuchsia Flare, no name Goldie "dark" pink, and Cult Nails "Bad" Devious Nature.
I kept Cinderella on as a base.  I love that it changes one of the pinks to an almost purple, and you can see the shimmer through it.  Although I'm not sure how well it was picked up in photos!

I never photograph both hands, but I felt it was necessary this time!  Don't they look great?  I was SHOCKED at how good they turned out!  I guess if I would have to give any tips that I haven't seen yet, it would be to minimally marble.  I'm sure that's where some people go wrong.  It's easy to over-do it!

I have some exciting news as well!  I got a job!  I was starting to worry that I was going to miss out on a lot of the collections coming up.  I know I'll have to budget, but there are some I can't miss (Hunger Games, anyone?)!  However, I'm not getting as many hours as I had hoped, so I'll have to put an end to swaps for now.  I LOVE doing them, but they take so much money.  I've been gathering for one since October, and I'm just now getting it sent out.  I'm so sorry!  I'm hoping I'll be able to get it started back up soon, since there are collections I want from everywhere (Mainly Mari Moon and the Essence collex!).  PLUS the US flat rate shipping prices have went up.  Not good all around.

Anyway, what do you guys think of my first marble?  Which nail is your favorite??  Let me know!  Thanks for reading!

LATE Pink Wednesday

Hi everyone!  I'm sorry I'm late today, I didn't mean to be.  I was super tired last night and fell asleep early! But, it's going to be an awesome post because I have on.... GOSH HOLO!  YAY!  My friend Line from Facebook was awesome enough to find me a bottle.  I had to put it on right away!

I used GOSH Holo as the base, and on my ring finger (and stamp) I used Zoya Izzy from the Jems and Jewels set.  Isn't this a gorgeous mani?  I love it!  Thank you Line!!!!

PREVIEW + Pink Wednesday

Hi everyone!  Another quick preview of the review I have coming up :)  I could have done it already but I'm having trouble getting pictures I'm satisfied with since they are so bling-y!  Also, so I could make this a "real" post, I added OPI Excuse Moi to my ring finger as an accent.  Enjoy!

So, what do you think?  I apologize for the messiness, but as soon as I got this on I realized that it needs to be re-done.  It will be fixed in the official review!  Thanks for looking!

Pink Wednesday: Liquid Luck

Hello everyone!  I have a couple of amazing manis coming at the end of the week, so stay tuned! For today, though, I have another franken!  This is a beauty that I made by accident.  I had an almost empty bottle of Sinful Colors "All About You" laying around while I was frankening, and ended up dumping a couple other polishes in it so I could make room to mix.  I looked down at the bottle and I had what Erika named "Felix Felicis."  Take a look:

In the bottle it looks like a gold polish with a flash of pink, and some multi-colored glitter.  On the nail, with flash, it looks almost like a sheer version of the popular gold/pink foils we've been seeing a lot of.  But prettier.

This polish is very sheer, but beautiful! I love the way it looks on my nails!  I couldn't get a good shot of how it looks out of bright light though.  It looks like a pinkish champagne.  Gorgeous.

Finally, a picture without flash.  Here, you can see that the champagne/gold really is the dominant color in this polish.  Sorry it's blurry, but it really shows what I'm talking about!
I am SO happy with this franken!  It is feminine, nude(ish), elegant, and extremely eye catching!  Every time I look at it, it's different!  Okay.  That's all I've got today.  Hopefully I can have an awesome Halloween post tomorrow, and my birthday mani Friday!  I'm so excited!  Thanks for reading! :)

Pink Wednesday! It's Been Awhile!

Hi all!  I have another franken for my return to Pink Wednesdays! :)   Awhile back, Kristin (aka Manicured Monkey) sent me a bunch of polishes to franken with.  I was playing around with a few of what I thought were the extras, and this is what I came up with!  Enjoy!

I love that bottle shot :) It shows everything the best.  There are actually a few bigger pieces of glitter, and for some reason I couldn't get them to show up on the nail.  I have a name for this one, but I don't remember what it is (I'm lame.  Yes, I know), so when I find it maybe I'll update!
Anyway, that's all I have for today, super short!  Leave me some questions, fun comments, anything so I'll have stuff to answer!  Thanks for looking!

Pink Wednesday Mission

Hey everyone! I have a mission for you this week.  I hope you'll accept it because I am going absolutely crazy.  I need someone to find out where I can get Caramel Tootsie Pops.  We bought three bags and went back to get more and they were gone.  They are possibly the most amazing things ever.  A rich, buttery caramel flavored hard candy with caramel in the middle.  GAH!  So (and I'm looking at you Ms. Vicki Newton!) I need someone to find them for me!  Thanks :)

On to the mani!  I have a pink Wednesday, and it had the potential to be amazing.  Unfortunately I can't find a bottle of SV anywhere in this house, so I screwed up my left hand and it will be taken off shortly.  This is what it was supposed to look like though:

Sorry I didn't do cleanup, but I figured I'm taking it off so it doesn't matter as much.  Please forgive me!  What I used is Color Club Yum-Gum, that I got from the awesome Ashley Kersey, and my DL Candy Shop dupe for an accent.  All topped with a matte coat.  I really like the way it looks.  Minus the bubbles.  If you can't see them (which I actually think showed up pretty well here), check this picture out:

Holy bubbly thumb, Batman!  Really, I would forgive these.  They look kind of neat trapped in the matte coat.  It's a very strange effect.  I can't tell if it was the regular top coat that did it, or if it was the matte coat, so I'll have to mess around and figure out what the problem is.  Anyway, I'm super disappointed that I have to take this off.  Really though, it will be a lot easier to take the right hand off then to fix the left.  Don't worry, I am on a mission to find SV this weekend!  I've been wanting to do some nail art, so as soon as I get a good top coat I'll play around some!  I hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for looking :)

Pink Wednesday + China Glaze Tarnished Gold

Hi everyone :)  I'm going to confess something.  I have been totally uninspired lately.  I'm sure that doesn't surprise you one bit.  I'm pretty much just sick of summer, and with my itty bitty short nails (if you want to call them that) I don't think anything really looks good so I haven't stamped or anything.  I just feel really ick about the whole situation.  Which is why, I'm embarrassed to say, I have nothing good for Pink Wednesday.  I painted my nails with my franken, then realized I posted about it last week.  Awesome.  I am such a fail!  So, I threw some Tarnished Gold shatter on top, since I've been looking for it FOREVER and I'm being forced to call it good.  I'm sorry.  I suck.  I'm hoping another week of crappy posts and I'll be back into the groove.  I DO have some great nail art stuff coming!  So, let's look at today and quickly move on to tomorrow! lol

I am apologizing for these pictures before you see them.  I don't usually photograph my thumb, but for some reason I did tonight.  Plus, I was going to clean my nails the little bit that they need (cuticles made of glitter anyone?!) but if you are on NPG on Fb, then you know what's going on and I kind of forgot about the need to do it.  I'm sorry.  Forgive me!?!

Forgetting for a second that this photo is a train wreck (cuticle flooding, weird top/base coat flakes {where the hell did those come from!?!?}, other weird things), isn't this really pretty?  The thumb cracked perfectly!  Well, perfectly for this particular combo.  I love that you can see the glitter through the gold as well.

I wish I had done this during the day, I would have a sunlight photo.  I kinda really love this combination.  Yum.  Maybe I'll take some shots and post them tomorrow.  If my camera doesn't die like it was trying to!

So, now that you've seen mine... Let me see yours!  If you aren't in my blog roll, leave your URL!  I want to see some new stuff! Love you guys!  Thanks for looking!

Pink Wednesday Franken Fun!

Hi everyone!  Happy Wednesday :) So, I feel kind of silly.  I posted Monday night that I wasn't wearing pink for Wednesday... only, I was writing Tuesday's post.  Oops!  Well, I really am wearing pink today, so I can go ahead with the regularly scheduled Pink Wednesday!
This week I have been on a big Deborah Lippmann kick.  I refuse to buy her polishes though.  I think I can make some suitable copies for WAY less than $18.  I set to work Monday night trying to prove it.  These were the first I came up with:

I think these look pretty damn good!  I need a little more clear in the GITA copy, and more glitter in the other two, but I'm on the right track.  I decided to keep these the way they are and just go ahead and do separate bottles of the "more accurate" copies.  Tuesday, after buying tons more glitter, I got this:

Much closer on the black! The problem is that it needs a million coats, but it looks great!  I'm still missing some glitter from the pink, but I'm happy enough with it!  The purple was for fun.

Then, I decided to do a mint green with all the left over glitter.  I like how it's still milky.  The glitter looks surreal.  Really love it!

Here are all of them side by side.  I need help naming them.  The first pink is "Honey Dukes" and the first black is "Hog's Head."  I named them after the (candy shop) and the pub in Harry Potter.  For the two or three of you that might not have caught it lol  I picked Honey Dukes to kind of mimic Candy Shop, and decided the rest should be Harry Potter themed too, since they are so freaking magical looking.  So, name the rest for me?  I'm looking for some great suggestions!

Finally, since it's Pink Wednesday, here's a picture of Honey Duke's when it's on.  I love it.  <3
