Red/gold holiday nails

Hi everyone!  Today is "Thanksgiving weekend nails part 2."  I wore Dr's Remedy REVIVE as a base, then stamped the necklace/jewels/chains design on my nails using China Glaze Midnight Kiss from last year's holiday collection.  I then tipped my nails with some gold glitter.  I think I went a little too far with it, and I'm not really satisfied with the final look.  No one else has seemed to have a problem, but I wasn't satisfied.
I also couldn't get decent pictures to save my life, so I'm sorry about the quality of these!  I'll make it up to you soon.  :)

Well, we got our tree up today and a couple other things done, and I'm cleaning my room tomorrow (pray for me!), so hopefully I'll have time to do the nails I've been craving for the past week or so!  Hopefully I can show you tomorrow.  Until then though, thanks for looking!

Dr's Remedy Jolly and Joy Holiday 2011

Hi everyone!  Today I have my second review for Dr's Remedy.  The AMAZING Jolly and Joy collection!  These five shades were recently released for the 2011 Holiday.  I've already told you about the company, so I'll jump right in!

REVIVE Ruby Red
Another red!  I actually like this one.  I think I'm being converted into a red lover.  It's a gorgeous glowing shade, very classic.  The formula was a little thin and I had a tad bit of trouble with application.  The brush is partly to blame, otherwise it was the thin formula.  I like my polishes a little thicker!

Here's what I'm talking about with the brush.  It's smaller, and really stiff.  The bristles didn't really spread out that much.  It was the only polish with a brush problem, so I'm sure I just got a wonky one!

ESSENTIAL Emerald
This is a beautiful shade that you wouldn't really expect to see as a green in a holiday collection.  I'm really loving this lighter shade with a delicate silver shimmer running through it.  This one was thicker and applied perfectly!

PASSION Purple
This is another that is kind of surprising to me.  I call it more of a "sugar plum" shade than a purple.  Again, this has a delicate shimmer that makes it shine beautifully!

SERENE Silver Glitter
This is the polish I was most excited about in this collection!  I wasn't disappointed.  In fact, I was totally WOWed!  A gorgeous silver glitter that also has blue, purple and pink glitter mixed in.  So pretty.  Shown is two coats.

RESOLUTION Red Glitter
The final polish in the collection is a stunner!  It is described as a "red meets copper spin."  Honestly, I don't see that though.  I see silver and pink glitters.  Still a favorite!  This is also two coats.

Overall I am VERY pleased with this collection!  All but the red went on beautifully and are just gorgeous.  The thin formula of REVIVE is the only real problem I have.  I may be able to correct that by leaving the bottle open for a few minutes, which I will try.  The brush is another story though!  I'll have to figure out how to deal with that...

SERENE and ESSENTIAL are both unique shades that I will be wearing quite a bit.  I am just in love with them!  If you only pick up two, make them these!

Dr's Remedy is available online at remedynails.com or by calling 877-323-NAIL.  They normally retail for $17 each (worth it if they help your nails!), but this weekend (through Monday, 11/28) they are $14 each.  They are also offering free shipping!  Definitely check that out if you are a Black Friday shopper!

Be sure to like them on Facebook or follow on Twitter to keep track of new releases and deals!

What do you all think of these shades?  In love like I am?  Let me know down below!  (haha, I rhymed teehee)  Thanks for looking!

Fall Fever: A review

Hi everyone!  Today I have a review of a polish that was made specifically to improve the condition of your nails.... By doctors!  Yes, I'm talking about Dr's Remedy!

Dr's Remedy is a brand new company for me.  This review is the first time I have used their polishes.  I'm fairly certain I will be converted to this brand for good now!  We'll look at the pictures first, then I'll let you know a little about the brand.

Balance; Defense; Noble
Side note, that is not a light box.  It is a super ghetto set-up that I made just to take this photo. :)
BALANCE Brick
Balance is described as "A modern maroon with body and balance."  It for sure has body!  It was the exact color as the school here uses.  So, I got sick of it pretty fast because I see it everywhere!  I thought it was gorgeous when I put it on, though, so I'll probably wear it again.  This was three coats.  I added an extra after top coat to smooth bubbles, so you only need two.

NOBLE Navy
Noble is said to be "A sea-at-dusk shade that reflects light and brings dimension to tips and toes alike."  I agree with this description!  It is a perfect navy with mega shine!  The swatch up there is with no top coat.  I really love this polish!

DEFENSE Deep Red
Described as "A rich bordeaux with a mystifying matte finish," this polish confuses me.  This is the farthest I have ever seen from being matte!  There's even more shine on this than Noble!  I used three coats because it seems that there are bald spots, but they didn't go away.  So, I'm not sure if they were reflection, or just me.  Either way, this is a dark, vampy, gorgeous red that is perfect for fall!

This picture makes my clean-up look a little less bad.  With both this polish and Balance you have to be a little careful during clean-up or it will run and stain cuticles.  Just like any red.  However, I don't wear red often so I always forget!  Sorry.  :(

Dr's Remedy was created by a doctor who was curious about the chemicals his pregnant wife shouldn't be exposed to.  While formulating the B3Free polish, it was also decided that the formula should be enriching, improving the nails instead of drying out and damaging them.   Along with moisturizing ingredients, anti-fungals were also added and the Dr.'s Remedy polish line was born.  Things such as tea tree oil and garlic extract work to promote healthy, beautiful nails.

I must say, I love the idea!  I haven't worn them enough to see a difference yet, but I plan on getting the hydrate base coat to help with my peeling.  So far, I am very impressed with the quality of this polish.  The formula is very smooth and nice.  I will be wearing them again soon!  Maybe I can get a wear test out of them... I tried one but ended up messing it up in a day.  My fault, not theirs.  All in all, I recommend these!

If you'd like more information, you can check out their website remedynails.com.  They can also be found on Facebook: Facebook.com/remedynails, or Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/remedynails.

Dr's Remedy polishes are only available online or by calling 877-323-NAIL.

So, what do YOU guys think?  Do you have them?  Does the idea intrigue you?  Will you be picking some up?  Let me know!  I'll also be reviewing the GORGEOUS Holiday collection next week, so be sure to come back for that!  Thanks for looking!
